Twinpage

Privacy policy

Twinpage translates documents on your device. This page explains, in plain words, what the app does with your files and what little it collects.

In short

Your documents

When you choose a file or take a photo, Twinpage reads it and translates its text with the on-device translator that Apple builds into iOS. The file and its text are not sent to our servers, because we do not run any for this purpose. We never see your documents.

Results are saved in the app's own storage on your device so that you can reopen them. A file leaves the app only when you choose to share, save or print it.

Translation history

The list of your past translations, with the files behind it, is stored only on your device. To remove it, open Settings in the app and choose Delete translation history. Deleting the app removes it as well.

Language downloads

Languages are downloaded by iOS itself, from Apple, the first time you need them. That exchange is between your device and Apple and is governed by Apple's terms. After the download, translation works without a connection.

Usage statistics

Twinpage uses Firebase Analytics Core to count how the app is used. It records events such as: translation completed (with a coarse type, for example PDF, .docx, scan or sample), purchase screen shown or closed, daily limit reached, trial started and purchase completed. A purchase event carries the product identifier, the currency and the amount.

These events never include document content, file names, text, languages or file sizes. The Firebase library also reads basic technical details: a random identifier of this installation of the app (not the advertising identifier), device model, iOS version, app version and an approximate region derived from the network address.

We use this to see which features people use and to measure the results of our own advertising in aggregate. We do not sell it and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites. Firebase works for us as a service provider.

Your choice about statistics

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, statistics are collected only if you turn on Share anonymous usage statistics in Settings. In other regions the switch is on by default. You can change it at any time in the same place, and switching it off stops collection.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your card or other payment details. The app only learns, through Apple, whether Pro is active on your Apple Account.

If statistics are on when you subscribe, the app passes Apple a random identifier of this installation (the same one Firebase uses) together with the purchase. Apple then sends us notifications about the subscription: renewal, refund, cancellation, the product, the price, the currency and the store country. They contain no card details, no name, no email and no Apple Account. We forward these events to Firebase Analytics so that renewals are counted even when you do not open the app. If you later turn statistics off, events of a subscription that is already active may still be forwarded until it ends or is cancelled.

Camera

The camera is used only when you choose to scan a paper document, and only after iOS asks for your permission. Photos are processed on the device in the same way as files and are not uploaded.

Children

Twinpage is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

We do not keep an account or any profile that identifies you, so there is usually nothing to look up. If you believe we hold data about you, or you have a question about this policy, write to support@twinpage.pro. You can also stop all statistics in Settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
