What we have not measured yet: how much space each language takes and how long the first download takes on a phone. In our phone run on October 29, 2026 no download sheet appeared because the language was already there.
Preparing languages before you go offline
Before a flight, a trip or a day in an office with no network, translate a short document into each language you will need while you are still online. That makes iOS download the language. If a pair is not offered, it may not be available on your phone or iOS version; check the languages page.

Why on-device translation matters for private papers
Contracts, medical letters, HR papers and bank statements carry details you may not want on someone else's server. With Twinpage the document is read and translated on the phone; results are kept in the app's own storage and leave it only when you share, save or print them. Translation history can be deleted in Settings. The app collects anonymous usage statistics with no document content, file names or text, and you can switch them off. Details are in the privacy policy.
This is a description of how the app works, not a statement that it meets any law or company rule for handling data. If your employer or a regulation sets rules for such papers, check them.

Offline document vs offline phrase translator
An offline phrase translator handles a sentence you type or say. A document translator takes a whole file and gives back a file. Twinpage does only the second: it has no voice mode and no live camera translation. If you need to ask for directions, a phrase app fits better. If you need to read a lease or send a translated letter, a document translator does.
